2nd seminar for ASEAN parliamentarians concludes

The second seminar for parliamentarians from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), initiated by the China International Development Cooperation Agency, concluded on Aug 5.

The seminar, under the theme of strengthening cooperation among legislative bodies for a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, was attended by 23 parliamentarians and senior parliamentary officials of five Southeast Asian countries -- Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

They visited the cities of Beijing, Nanjing and Kunming in China and surveyed projects on rural vitalization, connectivity, high technology, digital economy, culture and tourism, and legislative outreach offices at grassroots level, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the true picture of China's economic and social development. They also participated in symposiums on the experiences and practices of China's development in economy, politics, culture, society and ecological civilization, where they held in-depth discussions with relevant government officials and experts.
