Hu Zhangliang, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, led a team to visit Uganda from Sept 19 to 21.
During the visit, he held separate meetings with Uganda's Third Deputy Prime Minister Lukia Isanga Nakadama, Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, Minister of Works and Transport Edward Katumba Wamala, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health Diana Atwine, and Ambassador John Leonard Mugerwa from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They held in-depth discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation and implementing the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, with a focus on specific cooperation projects.
The Ugandan side spoke highly of China's long-term support and assistance to the country, and pledged to work with China to jointly implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries.
Hu and his team also inspected local China-aided projects and held discussions with related Chinese enterprise representatives.
