CIDCA chairman meets Mozambique's prime minister

Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, met with Mozambique's Prime Minister Maria Benvinda Levy in Beijing on Oct 13. Levy is in China to attend the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women.

Chen welcomed Levy and highlighted the Chinese president's speech at the opening ceremony of the meeting that outlined China's commitment to advancing global women's development and building a community with a shared future for humanity. Chen emphasized the importance of China-Mozambique relations, noting the deepening political trust and ongoing cooperation that benefit both nations.

Chen said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Mozambique, which coincides with the beginning of Mozambique's new government. He expressed China's willingness to work with Mozambique to implement the important consensus reached between their leaders, align development strategies,  enhance cooperation, and promote steady and sustained development of the China-Mozambique comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.

Levy acknowledged the significance of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women and hailed China's proposal as inspiring. She thanked China for its long-standing support for boosting Mozambique's economic and social development.

Levy highlighted Mozambique's new national development strategy (2025-44) that is aimed at sustainable growth and a better business environment, and expressed eagerness to deepen cooperation with China and turn outcomes from the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation into tangible results in her country.
