
On Oct 14, Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), attended and spoke at the unveiling ceremony of Global Center for Women's Capacity Building, co-hosted by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the CIDCA.
Chen said that a series of measures, including the establishment of the center, that have been proposed by China at the opening ceremony of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women aim to promote women's development around the world and create a better future for humanity.
Pledging to fully implement the measures, Chen said the CIDCA will enhance the training of women and invite 50,000 women to China for exchange and training programs in the next five years. The CIDCA will pool resources to support 1,000 projects of women's development, and provide $100 million to the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund in the next five years for implementing development cooperation projects for women and girls in collaboration with international organizations, according to Chen.
The CIDCA will also build an international communication platform for women and share its experience in women development with universities, think tanks and international organizations, he said.

Huang Xiaowei, vice-chairwoman of the ACWF, Sima Sami Bahous, executive director of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, and representatives of trainees at China-aided training programs also delivered speeches at the event, stating their confidence in the role of the center in promoting multilateral and bilateral cooperation and advancing global women's development.
