Donation ceremony held to celebrate anniversary of Chinese medical team to Madagascar

A ceremony was held on March 24 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the dispatch of a Chinese medical team to the Madagascan capital, Antananarivo, and to donate medical devices to the China-Africa hospital cooperation project at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Anosiala.

Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar Ji Ping and Randrianambinina Ephraïm Stéphanson, secretary-general of Madagascar's Ministry of Public Health, attended the event.

Ji said that over the past 50 years, the Chinese medical teams in Madagascar have struggled through hard times along with the people of Madagascar and made undeniable contributions to the development of local public health. He said that China will further cooperation with Madagascar to cultivate medical professionals for local communities.

Randrianambinina expressed gratitude to China. He said that the medical cooperation between the two countries has been based on mutual trust, respect and unity, and that China's assistance is an embodiment of humanitarianism and brotherhood.
