CIDCA vice-chairman delivers remarks at sub-forum of the third High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development

The third High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development was held in Beijing from April 21 to 22.

One of its sub-forums, under the theme "Connecting Global Wisdom to Build a Climate-Resilient Future", was hosted by the China Meteorological Administration on April 22.

Liu Junfeng, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, attended the event and made a speech.

Liu underscored that China, as a responsible major country, has adhered to a green, low-carbon and sustainable development path suited to its national conditions. He also emphasized that China's active engagement in international development cooperation and global climate governance has helped the world respond to climate change and improve climate resilience.

Liu expressed China's readiness to work with all parties to build a community with a shared future for humanity. He noted that China upholds a people-centered approach and champions fairness, justice and multilateralism in order to promote global climate governance and build a wonderful future where humanity and nature will co-exist in harmony.

Senior officials, including Director of the China Meteorological Administration Chen Zhenlin, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change Liu Zhenmin, Lesotho's Minister of Finance and Development Planning Adelaide Retselisitsoe Matlanyane and Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization Celeste Saulo, made speeches at the sub-forum.

Nearly 200 participants — including representatives of governments, international organizations, research institutes, universities and enterprises, as well as Chinese and foreign experts — attended the event. They engaged in in-depth discussions on global climate governance, the development of early warning system, and disaster prevention and mitigation.
