CIDCA vice-chairman gives speech at sub-forum of 3rd High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development

The third High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development was held in Beijing from April 21 to 22.

On April 22, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the UN Development Programme jointly held a sub-forum themed "From Promise to Action: Leading Capitals through Multilateral Cooperation to Create a Better Future Together".

Liu Junfeng, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, attended the sub-forum and made a speech.

Liu said that China, as the largest developing country, has supported other developing countries in achieving shared development while being committed to its own development. He added that China has built consensus for development through the Global Development Initiative and promoted global fundraising cooperation with pragmatic actions.

Liu emphasized that China is ready to work with the international community to pool more resources and create more channels to achieve better fundraising results around the world. These moves will facilitate the implementation of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the building of a global community of shared development, he said.

Kim Hun, the AIIB's chief partnerships officer and director general of the sectors, themes and finance solutions department of the bank, and Kitty van der Heijden, assistant secretary-general of the UN and deputy executive director of the UNICEF, also made speeches at the sub-forum.

More than 150 participants, including representatives of governments, international organizations, financial institutions, enterprises, social associations and foundations, as well as Chinese and foreign experts, attended the event. They held in-depth discussions on the fundraising for development.
