Tang Ying, director-general of the Foreign Aid Support Center of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and head of the Global Development Promotion Center (GDPC), visited Huang Ru, deputy director of the social organization administration of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, on July 8.
They held a work meeting to exchange views on the cooperation between the GDPC and the social organizations that have national influence.
Tang introduced the background and significance of the establishment of the CIDCA’s Foreign Aid Support Center and GDPC, as well as their main work and development direction. She said that the GDPC will facilitate the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund to play its leveraging and guiding role, and pool the relatively scattered capital resources of social organizations together to participate in and implement “small but smart” livelihood-related projects.
Tang said that the GDPC looks forward to jointly organizing special sub-forums with the Ministry of Civil Affairs that focus on the Global Development Initiative, so as to publicize favorable results achieved by social organizations in foreign aid and international development cooperation and to boost their international influence.
Huang said that the Ministry of Civil Affairs looks forward to exchanging and cooperating with the CIDCA, and there are many strong social organizations that are willing to participate in foreign aid and international development cooperation.
The establishment of the GDPC brings new opportunities for China's social organizations to participate in foreign exchanges and cooperation, which is conducive to integrating scattered social resources and forming synergy, said Huang.
Huang added that she hoped that the CIDCA can help unblock the policy bottlenecks faced by social organizations in "going global" and promote further integration of various parties.
