GDPC head meets with deputy secretary general of China Development Research Foundation

Tang Ying, director-general of the Foreign Aid Support Center of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and head of the Global Development Promotion Center (GDPC), visited Chen Guotang, deputy secretary general of the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF), on July 26.

Chen said that the CDRF was initiated in 1997 and has been led by the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC). It's a national public-funded foundation registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The main functions of the foundation include organizing the China Development Forum, implementing child development projects in poverty-striken areas, and carrying out related policy research. 

Chen said that the CDRF looks forward to maintaining communication with the GDPC, especially on sharing experiences in organizing forums.

Tang introduced the background and significance of the establishment of the CIDCA's Foreign Aid Support Center and the GDPC, saying that the DRC has always maintained good cooperation with the CIDCA. 

She said this visit was mainly to learn from the CDRF about materializing the outcomes announced at the High-level Dialogue on Global Development, such as organizing the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development and compiling a project pool. 

Tang said that the GDPC looks forward to future exchanges and cooperation with the foundation in the process of promoting the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
