GDPC head meets with Fujian officials of foreign affairs

Tang Ying, director-general of the Foreign Aid Support Center of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and head of the Global Development Promotion Center (GDPC), met with Huang Shaorong, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of East China's Fujian province, on July 21.

Tang introduced the background and significance of the establishment of the Foreign Aid Support Center and the GDPC, and said that the Forum on the 20th Anniversary of the Juncao Assistance and Sustainable Development Cooperation, co-organized by the CIDCA and the Fujian provincial government last year, achieved sound results. 

She said that the CIDCA expects more cooperation with the Fujian provincial government in the future to help design the themes of sub-forums under the framework of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, with focuses on the eight key cooperative fields of the Global Development Initiative. Tang added that local governments are also welcome to recommend projects for the project pool on global development. 

Huang congratulated on the founding of the GDPC and said that the Fujian provincial government is willing to make use of platforms, such as the national Juncao center and the newly-established China-Pacific Island Countries Poverty Alleviation and Cooperative Development Center, to promote pragmatic cooperation with the GDPC in organizing sub-forums and personnel trainings.
