Autumn Sports Day held for GDI Group of Friends

To promote friendly exchanges among the Group of Friends of Global Development Initiative (GDI) countries, the Global Development Promotion Center (GDPC) of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and the Beijing Diplomatic Service jointly hosted the Autumn Sports Day for the GDI Group of Friends on Oct 28. Tang Ying, head of the GDPC, and Martin Charles, ambassador of Dominica to China, attended the opening ceremony.

As an event under the framework of the digital publicity platform for global development, the sports activity had four events, namely warm-up exercises, basketball, volleyball and an obstacle course. Diplomats from Dominica, Belarus, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Micronesia and Mozambique took part in the event with their families.

Charles said that the GDI conforms to the needs of developing countries and that he looks forward to deepening cooperation with China in various fields for common development.

The participants extended their warm congratulations on the establishment of the GDPC and lauded the success of the event, saying it enhanced communication among foreign diplomats to China. They also voiced their hope for more communication platforms initiated by the center.
