Introduction

Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development

China announced plans to establish an institute of South-South cooperation and development at the summit of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations in September 2015. 

The new institution aims to sum up the successful experience of China and other developing countries in governance and educate high-end talents in government management for developing countries, which is an important step taken by China to promote South-South cooperation and common prosperity.

In September 2016, the institute successfully recruited its first 48 doctoral and postgraduate students from 23 countries including Ethiopia, Cambodia and Jamaica.  

In the past year, the students successfully walked along the development road with Chinese characteristics, and truly perceived the essence of China's development experience.
